What We Book

Ashkenaz presents dance music from a variety of world and roots music genres, including – but not limited to – African, Balkan, Bellydance, Bluegrass/Old Time, Blues, Brazilian, Cajun/Zydeco, Caribbean, Cuban, Flamenco, Grateful Dead, Jam Bands, Kids' Shows, Reggae, Ska, Swing, and different world fusions. We feature emerging, local, national, and international talent 6 nights a week.

We are committed to offering quality music that represents a broad spectrum of cultures and styles. We also look for music that moves your feet, and is all-age appropriate (we are always all ages).

We support other nonprofit organizations by offering a space for benefits and fundraisers.

Occasionally we have sit-down shows for dance performance, such as Flamenco and Bellydance, but we are mainly an "open dance floor" venue.

Studio Rentals

Ashkenaz rents the Front and Back Studios to dance, movement, and music instructors to teach classes, individual lessons, and workshops and for rehearsals. The rental rate for ongoing classes is $20/hour for the Front Studio and $18/hour for the Back Studio. The rate for one-time workshops is $25/hour. Studios are generally rented on a monthly basis, though hourly rentals are possible depending upon availability. In general, evening hours are unavailable as are Saturday mornings. Rental times are available on weekdays, on weekend afternoons, and other assorted times.

The Front Studio is 1320 sq. ft. (dance space is 31' x 42' with mirrors along the 42' wall)

The Back Studio is 600 sq. ft. (dance space is 27' x 22' with mirrors along the 27' wall)
