Mongolian alternative rock band Return makes its Ashkenaz debut in this concert for dancing and listening that is full of musical surprises. The members combine traditional Mongolian throat singing and long singing styles with modern rock influences to express their lives, feelings, beliefs, and doubts in creative ways. Songs come from the group’s 2014 album “Rivers Underground” (available on iTunes), as well as a second album that will soon be available, and even newer songs. The band hopes to encourage and bring people together through its passion and love for music.
The concept for Return was born in 2010 when guitarist and vocalist Zul Lkhagvasuren and electric bassist Orgilon Tulg began playing together in Los Angeles, and the lineup was finalized with the 2013 addition of lead guitarist Dulguun Geoff and drummer Amirlan Tsogtbayar. Since then Return has played often in Los Angeles and the Bay Area, at the Playtime Mongolian live music festivals and San Francisco State University’s Mongolian Heritage Day.
