Eric Pettway, aka Lucky Cat, was born September 7, 1966 to the late James Pettway and Maggie Preston Pettway in Bridgeport, CT. He entered eternal rest December 1, 2017 in Oakland, CA. Eric was a brilliantly talented professional musician. He was a trained boxer, and with those skills continued by being a personal fitness trainer. He knew where he came from and was a proud Pettway. He carried his pride like a staff and was very loyal to his family. He always kept 4-8 meals in his pocket, usually a burger wrapped in a napkin. He loved his mom so much, as he loved all people unconditionally. He leaves to cherish his loving memory his mother, Maggie Pettway of Bridgeport; , 2 sons, Yannik Bayer of Germany and Ezekiel Pettway of CA; 5 brothers, Jamie Pettway of NY: Demetrius Pettway of Trumbull; Dereck Pettway of Fairfield; Darian of NY; and Dell Pettway of Bridgeport; 2 sisters, Tuesday Pettway of Ansonia, Wednesday Pettway of Bridgeport and a host of uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces, cousins other relatives and friends.

Eric Pettway:

- He was a brilliantly talented professional singer / musician

- He always amazed people with his strength and ability to work hard

- He also had strength of character and conviction to his beliefs

- He was the guy you’d see running around the lake with a log on his shoulder

- Dedicated Athlete

- Physical Trainer

- He had a really great sense of humor

- He was trained as a boxer, and with those skills he become a personal fitness trainer for a time in his 30s 

- He would drop everything in a second... to help his friends

- He had a deep personal relationship with almost everyone he knew

- He was a critical thinker, always one step ahead

- He was inquisitive, almost painfully... and that was part of this genius... He asked questions, not for his own knowledge... but to see if you knew what you were talking about

- He had a strong connection and love for God, and shared that love with everyone

- He was Passionate in his convictions, and spoke about his family a lot. Eric loved his family deeply.

- Eric loved his Mom so much

- He knew where he came from, and was a proud Pettway. He carried his pride like a staff / loyal to his family.

- And he was proud of his families accomplishments 

- He always had 4-8 meals in his pocket, usually burgers, wrapped in napkins

- He would always magically appear in people’s lives when they needed him the most

- He was a protector

- He lived his life to the fullest, and in the moment

- He loved people unconditionally

- He was our strong beautiful friend, full of life, full of energy, full of spirit

- We will miss him
