"Since we were kids, Ashkenaz's efforts to strengthen our community have been unmatched. Our parents would take us there and expose us to music and dance from around the world. In 1999, we were able to perform at Ashkenaz with other groups from Berkeley and Oakland and our parents were able to see us. The circle of life is complete at Ashkenaz. It provided many of us the inspiration to follow our dreams in music, aware that there are outlets for the local artists and a place to express our souls."
