Ashkenaz Music and Dance Community Center Street Team
SPREAD THE WORD ABOUT ASHKENAZ!

Want to go to Ashkenaz shows for free while helping out a great organization and introducing people to incredible established and emerging artists?

The Ashkenaz Street Team is a group of people who love Ashkenaz and want to share it with others. Street Team Volunteer opportunities include:

  • Distributing monthly calendars
  • Flyering handbills at other shows and festivals in the Bay Area
  • Postering
  • Spreading news through word-of-mouth and through group e-mails

You will be compensated with complimentary tickets to our shows and other benefits, and will be joining a wonderful community.

Ideal Street Team members have a strong interest in music and community, and are, or want to be, involved in the Bay Area music scenes. If you go to shows at other venues with similar audience interests as ours, all the better! We ask for a three-month volunteer commitment.

E-mail Joe Balestreri, Publicity and Outreach Coordinator, at joe@ashkenaz.com for more information.

Other Volunteer Opportunities

We invite you to become a part of the Ashkenaz volunteer community! We are looking for people committed to supporting the Ashkenaz staff and Board of Directors in furthering the Ashkenaz mission. You can do this by helping out when the need arises or on a regular basis.

Year-round we find ourselves with many tasks to accomplish, most of them involving a commitment of two to three hours at at time. Our needs fall into three categories: Administrative Help, Facilities and Special Events.

  • Administrative Help
Assisting with office tasks: Marketing and PR, graphic design, updating website, assisting with computer/technology issues, inputting information into databases, analysis, filing, organizing, assembling press kits, and assisting with special and monthly mailings. Hours are flexible.

  • Facilities
Physical labor, such as painting, sanding floors, unloading materials, cleaning. Dates to be determined as projects arise.

  • Special Events
Set up/take down, staffing booths at various festivals to promote Ashkenaz. Requires positive, outgoing people to hand out calendars, educate the community about Ashkenaz, answer questions (will be trained and will be accompanied by a Board or staff member). 2-3 hour slots/shifts.

If you have any questions and/or are interested in assisting us in any of these activities please contact our Executive Director, Larry Dekker, by e-mail at: dekker@ashkenaz.com. He will then be in touch with you.
