Salsa Rueda is a particular type of round dancing of salsa. It was developed in Havana, Cuba, in the late 1950s and early 1960s. Pairs of dancers form a circle, with dance moves called out by one person, a caller. Many of the moves involve the swapping of partners. Each month we will learn a new set of moves, reviewing each week what was taught earlier in the monthly series. Private lessons may be taught during any month where advance enrollment does not meet the minimum, so be sure to enroll by the 4th Thursday of the month or before, if you are interested in the series. Sponsored by Building Bridges as a Community Circles Event. Karen & Michael also host the Six Salsa Shows Series with live salsa bands and dance parties. Classes before live bands are always drop-in Cuban-style salsa classes. Check the Ashkenaz calendar for the dates for upcoming shows.
